A passionate writer, Michael continually seeks his unique voice. Each song, born from life experiences, weaves evocative lyrics that invite listeners to find their own stories. His journey, from Southern California deserts to L.A. and New York, has nurtured a layered song structure, allowing appreciation on multiple levels.

In Koanesce, Michael draws inspiration from Zen philosophy, focusing on Leonard Cohen's later works, and evolving into original explorations. His philosophy, 'The present is all there will ever be,' guides Koanesce's commitment to timeless, relevant music."

Singer-Songwriter

Tiana Goss brings a powerful and authentic vocal presence to Koanesce. Initially seen on American Idol and The Voice, her ability to translate raw emotion into compelling melodies and heartfelt lyrics is undeniable. A songwriter as well with a substantial solo catalog, showcasing her range and artistry. She has a unique ability to carve out inspired harmonies to nearly anything. More than just singing, Tiana inhabits each song with a stage presence that is at once magnetic and immersive, consistently bringing that authenticity and captivating energy to all of Koanesce's music."

Percussionist Harmonica

The rhythmic, fiercely human heart of  Koanesce. His early career featured extensive touring with the influential rock group Naguales. Going on to study with renowned percussionists like Rudy Regalado and  Joe Porcaro.  He graduated with honors from L.A. Music Academy. His diverse experience includes collaborations within the Los Angeles Latin music scene, notably a three-year residency with Graciela Beltrán. He is forever pushing the music forward.

Violin

Ryan, a versatile and accomplished instrumentalist in Koanesce. His musical journey began early, mastering both guitar and piano before focusing on violin. A graduate of the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Music, Ryan has performed extensively in various settings, from youth symphonies to folk festivals. His experience ranges from classical chamber ensembles to his current role as Assistant Concertmaster with the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra. What sets Ryan apart is his rare ability to seamlessly blend classical precision with improvisational flair. This allows him to bring the most delicate expressions with emotional heft."

BASS

A Berklee School of Music alumni with a deep understanding of various genres, coupled with a technical mastery of the bass make Hiro an invaluable communicator within Koanesce. He acts as a central point of connection, translating and bridging the diverse musical languages spoken by his bandmates.
