KOAN

D’Amor fou

"D'amour fou” - passionate and intense love beyond reason or control. Three songs were arranged and recorded with that exact passion. I found writing for piano, vocal, and strings rewarding. Finally, hearing these songs find their true emotional depth was an absolute joy.

Random Numbers

For all the great moments with Human Error, unfortunately, there are no complete recordings. Random Numbers were those songs shaped in San Diego but clarified and polished in Los Angeles. Near Abraham again, having just started working with Tiana, these songs wanted to be recorded.  We had the Human Error stand-up bass in Joe. All of 4 hours in the studio and four great songs

Human Error

A San Diego collective born from an unexpected cell phone store connection, fused diverse musical talents. Chris, Joe, and Austin's jazz-infused discipline, combined with Brianna's distinct vocal perspective, created a compelling contrast to earlier projects. Their weekly Blarney Stone Pub gig, though brief, served as a potent learning ground, igniting a collaborative spirit and shaping future songwriting. Despite its short run, Human Error left an enduring mark, planting the seeds for musical evolution."

The Last Blood Moon

The Last Blood Moon" is an electronic instrumental project inspired by the Blood Moon Tetrad, which occurred between April 2014 and September 2015. Each eclipse was experienced at a different location. The album features hand-played percussion on the synthesizer, rather than automated rhythms, creating a uniquely human take on synthesized sound. The music is meditative and contemplative.

The Brush

The Brush is a sonic journey through the raw emotional landscape of early disillusionment. The music is angry, without being cynical, capturing that moment of pure, unadulterated frustration. The sound blends hard rock energy with expansive improvisations, hinting at both Southern and Prog rock sensibilities. At its heart, a powerful, keyboard-driven core drives the band through moments of intense release and cathartic expression. Conceived in 2008 during the stark solitude of winter solstice and brought to fruition under the scorching summer sun of Yucca Valley, the desert's vastness and intensity are palpable in the music. The band’s name, “The Brush,” encapsulates the feeling of being dismissed, and that raw emotional content is the fuel that drives the sound.
